The 3rd International Conference on Geography and Geoinformatics for Sustainable Development

On November 30th, 2023, at the Learning Resources Center, Can Tho University (CTU), in collaboration with Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand, organized the 3rd International Conference on Geography and Geoinformatics for Sustainable Development (ICGGS 2023).

Overview of the conference

The ICGGS 2023 aims to provide a platform for scholars around the world to engage in a broad spectrum of issues ranging from Natural resources and environment, Socioeconomic, Geoinformatics application, and Education, followed by exploring the growth of technological advance in Geoinformatics and its impact on planning and solving global problems.

Attending the event, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, Vice Rector of CTU; Dr. Tran Anh Tu, Director of Ground Data Technology Solutions; the presence of officials, lecturers of CTU, representatives of Srinakharinwirot University, international students, and CTU’s students.

In his welcome speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung expressed his gratitude to Srinakharinwirot University for their constant support and collaboration with CTU in areas related to the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region. Furthermore, the Vice-Rector also highlighted the significance of applying geography and geoinformatics in research and environmental protection, particularly in the context of complex climate change.

At the keynote session, keynote speakers introduced various geoinformatics projects and other fields concerning the environment and natural resources. These projects included completed ongoing, and upcoming initiatives. The projects provided the delegates, especially students interested in geoinformatics research, with new and diverse perspectives.
