Short-term certificate On July 1st, 2022, Can Tho University (CTU) had a meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japanese Supporting Universities Consortium (JSUC) on the implementation plan of the Technical Cooperation Project - Phase 2 (TC2).
CTU was honored to welcome the delegation from JICA Tokyo, including Mr. Iwasaki Akihiro, Director of Higher Education and Social
Security Group, JICA Headquarter; Ms. Inomata Mika, Special Advisor, Higher Education and Social Security Group; Prof. Tanaka Yuji, Chief Advisor of TC2 Project. The meeting was attended online by Prof. Arie Tsutomu, Chairman of the JSUC, Vice President of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology; Mr. Watanabe Koichiro, Senior Advisor of JICA Tokyo, and professors from the JSUC including Hokkaido University, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Kyushu University, Nagasaki University, Kagoshima University, Okayama University, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
At CTU's side were Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice-Rector, Director of the Project Management Unit; Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Vice-Rector with representatives of 12 research programs and members of the Project Management Unit.

At the meeting, the relevant parties have reviewed the events and activities that took place in the framework of the TC2 Project such as CTU-JICA Experts Kicking-Off Meeting and starting formulation of Concept Notes of Technology Transfer Models; Started periodical meeting (Friday Meeting) to monitor the progress of the project activities; the 1st JSUC Meeting. The setting up of the Technical Advisory Committee on Education was informed, and the curent status of 12 Models of TC2 Project were updated.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU, sent warm welcome to Prof. Tanaka Yuji as Chief Advisor of the TC2 Project and welcome Okayama University as a new member of JSUC. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan sent sincere thanks to Prof. Arie Tsutomu and JSUC members who have assisted CTU in each phase of the TC2 Project as well as CTU Improvement Project. The University wishes to continuously receive the support of 9 universities of JSUC, JICA Tokyo, JICA Vietnam, experts in the implementation of the TC2 Project, accordingly successfully conducting 12 models; developing 3 master's programs which has been opened in the TC Project - Phase 1 and continuing to build new academic programs with the goal of contributing to the growth of CTU and the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.
