During the two working days of June 5th-6th, 2017, based on the reports of the Executive Committee of CTU’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Congress reviewed and evaluated the results of the youth union movement of the 2014-2017 term; and built the goals, directions, missions of the youth union operation and movement in the period of 2017-2019.

The Congress received comments and suggestions from the delegates, and accepted the steering speeches from Deputy Secretary of Can Tho city’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Secretary of CTU’s Communist Party Committee, Rector of CTU to carry out the theme of the new term "Creativity-Integration-Startup".

The Congress elected the 18th Executive Committee of CTU’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union including 27 members to lead and successfully implement the Resolution of the 18th Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of CTU. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung holds the position of Secretary; Deputy Secretaries consist of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, and Mr. Lam Phuoc Thanh.
At the same time, the Congress also elected 18 unionists to represent the youth of CTU attending the 10th Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Can Tho city, 2017-2022 tenure.
