On June 17, 2017, Can Tho University (CTU) solemnly held the first Graduation Ceremony in 2017 to confer the degrees for 13 PhDs and 438 masters. The ceremony was attended by leader representatives of localities, universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta; Rectorate Board, leaders of CTU’s units; new graduates, their families and friends.

Graduate training is considered a key mission performed by CTU in the current period, with close attention of CTU’s leaders to improve the qualification of human resources in general and faculties at educational institutions in the Mekong Delta in particular, CTU, at present, offers 43 master training program and 16 doctoral ones.
The University’s graduate training scale is of 2,825 students, of which 370 students are pursuing doctoral programs. At this graduation ceremony, there are 13 PhDs and 438 masters were awarded degrees. Up to June 2017, the number of graduates reaches 96 PhDs and 8,886 masters.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU, warmly sent congratulations to all new PhDs and masters and sincere thanks to the support of local authorities in the Mekong Delta for the University to implement effectively the work of training and make favorable conditions for students to complete the training programs, and to the contribution of the teaching staff playing the major role in high quality human resource training for the Mekong Delta.
