TAKESHO-CTU 2026 International Internship Program: Connecting Vietnamese - Japanese - Indonesian Students through Knowledge, Technology, and Practice in Education

From August 24 to 28, 2026, Can Tho University (CTU), in collaboration with TAKESHO Food & Ingredients Inc. (Japan) and TAKESHO Vietnam Co., Ltd., organized the “TAKESHO-CTU 2026 International Internship Program,” bringing together students, lecturers, and representatives from three countries: Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia. The program provided an international learning and experiential environment, while also creating opportunities for knowledge, technology, and practical experience to be connected, shared, and developed through interactions among the university, enterprises, and students.

With a focus on connecting education, research, and practical application, the program brought students closer to the business environment, where professional knowledge was placed in specific situations, practical requirements, and problems that called for creative thinking. Through learning activities, hands-on practice, product idea development, and experiences with food processing technologies, students had opportunities to apply what they had learned and gain a clearer understanding of the relationship between classroom knowledge, technological processes, and the development of a product in practice.

Students from the three countries participated in academic activities during the four-day program at CTU

In the field of food technology, the value of research is reflected not only in laboratory results but also in its ability to apply knowledge and technology to address issues arising from production, daily life, and local resources. With this focus, the program contributed to strengthening connections between the university and businesses in food technology research, development, and application, particularly through the effective use of agricultural materials and by-products and the creation of greater added value from local resources.

This connection goes beyond creating additional opportunities for students to learn and gain practical experience. More importantly, it provides a foundation for the university and businesses to share knowledge, technology, and resources; identify practical needs together; and gradually explore directions for product development and technology application that can create practical value for the community and the food industry.

Alongside professional activities, the program also expanded opportunities for exchange and cooperation among students, lecturers, and participants from Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia. In a multicultural environment, students had opportunities not only to exchange knowledge and experience but also to develop communication and teamwork skills, collaborate with individuals from different educational backgrounds, and adapt to diverse approaches to learning and working. These experiences contributed to developing essential competencies for young professionals as education, science and technology, and the labor market become increasingly connected internationally.

At the conclusion of the program, the experiences, ideas, and outcomes were not only valuable as highlights of an international internship program but also provided a foundation for long-term connections between CTU and TAKESHO. On this basis, the two sides have further opportunities to expand cooperation in education, research, and product development, while gradually improving the program to provide students with more opportunities to gain practical experience, explore technologies, engage in international exchange, and develop professional skills.

The “TAKESHO-CTU 2026 International Internship Program” highlighted the value of connecting education with research, research with application, and students’ learning experiences with practical needs. It also provided a foundation for today’s connections to grow into concrete cooperation activities, helping bring greater value to knowledge, technology, and people in the field of food technology.

From a program connecting students from Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia, TAKESHO-CTU 2026 also created a space for CTU to promote its strengths in education, research, and knowledge transfer, expand international cooperation, and provide students with opportunities to learn, gain experience, and develop in a multicultural environment closely connected with practice. This approach is also consistent with CTU’s development direction, in which knowledge is connected with social needs, science and technology are promoted in close connection with application, and international cooperation serves as a resource for expanding learning, research, and development opportunities for students. Through these connections, the program not only creates value within a specific activity but also contributes to developing human resources, knowledge, and practical solutions for the community and the sustainable development of the food industry.
