Being included in the THE rankings for the first time marks a new milestone in CTU’s ongoing participation in international university assessment systems. This achievement reflects the University’s continued efforts to maintain a large-scale education system, strengthen its academic staff, advance scientific research, expand international partnerships, and promote the practical application of research outcomes.

As of September 2026, CTU has nearly 45,000 learners. In the 2026-2027 academic year, the University admitted nearly 12,000 students across 127 undergraduate admission codes, including 108 regular programs, 2 advanced programs, and 17 high-quality programs. At the postgraduate level, the University offers 63 master’s programs and 27 doctoral programs, including programs delivered in English. Currently, 85 training programs have received accreditation, comprising 45 programs accredited under AUN-QA standards and 40 programs accredited under the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

CTU currently has 24 professors and 192 associate professors, with doctoral degree holders accounting for 58.9% of its more than 1,000 academic staff members. This academic workforce provides an important foundation for the University to enhance the quality of education, advance research, and develop research groups with competitive capacity nationally and internationally. Alongside education and training, scientific research is one of CTU’s key areas of development, closely linked to practical issues facing the Mekong Delta. Research activities span a wide range of fields, including agriculture, fisheries, the environment, natural resources, technology, information technology, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

As of September 2026, CTU has secured intellectual property rights for 28 industrial property assets, including 8 invention patents and 5 plant variety protection certificates. In the field of plant varieties, the two rice varieties Nong Dan 1 and Nong Dan 2 have been officially approved for circulation. These achievements demonstrate the University’s ongoing efforts to align research with practical needs, developing technical solutions suited to the conditions of the Mekong Delta while expanding their potential applications nationwide and across the region.

CTU also places strong emphasis on international cooperation across a wide range of areas, including education and training, student and learner exchange, scientific research, and technology transfer. Expanding its network of partnerships with universities, research institutes, organizations, and enterprises in many countries provides faculty members, students, and graduate learners with greater opportunities to engage in an international academic environment, while promoting research and training activities with an international dimension.

In addition to THE, CTU is currently recognized in several other reputable international university rankings, including the 1,401+ group worldwide in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and 493rd in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026. The University is also included in the U.S. News Best Global Universities rankings.

CTU’s inclusion in the THE rankings, together with its recognition by other international ranking systems, marks another step in the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance quality and expand international integration. CTU continues to affirm and strengthen its role as a multidisciplinary university and a regional center for education and scientific research in the Mekong Delta, with a focus on enhancing its competitiveness and making increasingly substantive contributions to the development of the region and the country.
