From June 18th to 21st, 2024, 20 students from the School of Economics at Can Tho University (CTU) participated in a short-term academic exchange program at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) in Malaysia. This activity aimed to expand international cooperation, create opportunities for students to access new technology trends, learn from experiences and enhance creative skills.

At APU, CTU’s students studied and used modern teaching facilities, fully equipped with amenities such as libraries and technology labs, meeting all research needs and experiencing cultural interaction activities with APU students from over 130 countries.
During the program, CTU’s students attended two courses and one seminar: (1) Financial Technology Course: Students learned about using the internet, cloud computing technology, and open-source software to enhance financial, banking, investment, securities, foreign exchange, gold, as well as the risks when the market fluctuates. Additionally, APU lecturers provided an overview of Personal Financial Planning, helping students manage finances using modern technology. (2) Digital Marketing Course: Students were informed about the development, advantages, and disadvantages in this field, connecting with customers, advertising products/services/brands of enterprises, and the importance of current technological development. Additionally, CTU students participated in a seminar on Positive Thinking with lecturers and experts from both CTU and APU. The seminar concluded with an inspirational and motivational slogan for the younger generation: "You are what you think" and "We can – We must – We will."

Besides academic activities, CTU’s delegation had the opportunity to visit several famous landmarks, historical sites and explore the rich cuisine in Malaysia. This was an opportunity for the students to relax, have fun, and experience unique cultural realities interwoven with their studies. They also engaged in cultural exchange performances, allowing students to introduce and promote their national cultural features.

Concluding their study program at APU, CTU’s students not only had the chance to visit and experience life and culture in Malaysia but also gained valuable knowledge and skills in economics, finance, and personal development. Moreover, the program contributed to strengthening the spirit of friendship between nations and academic cooperation between universities in the region and internationally.
