Signing of Cooperation between Can Tho University and Niigata University

On October 3rd, 2024, in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Can Tho University (CTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Niigata University. This event marks a new step in promoting exchange and cooperation in the fields of education and research, facilitating the exchange of faculty and students, conducting joint research, organizing international seminars, and sharing academic materials. The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Ushiki Tatsuo, Rector of Niigata University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of CTU.

The cooperation agreement between CTU and Niigata University aims to promote joint research on rice varieties capable of responding to climate change, particularly the current global warming situation. Both parties will collaborate in developing and testing rice varieties that are resilient to harsh conditions such as high temperatures, drought, and salinity, contributing to effective responses to climate change and sustainable agricultural development in Vietnam and Japan.

Both parties hope that this agreement will lay the foundation for strengthening a long-term partnership, developing international joint research projects, and creating a diverse and rich academic environment for both faculty and students.

Can Tho University continually expands its cooperation both domestically and internationally. This event enhances the university's reputation and position in the academic community and affirms its pioneering role in training and scientific research. It also presents an opportunity for CTU to strengthen connections between faculty, students, and strategic partners, opening up many development prospects for the future.
