Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement between CTU and IRD, France

On March 7th 2012, Can Tho University (CTU) and Institute of Research for Development, France (Institut de recherche pour le développement – IRD) signed the agreement for research and training. The signing ceremony was hosted by representatives of CTU Rectorate Board, including A/Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan – Rector, A/Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung – Vice Rector, A/Prof.Dr. Le Quang Tri – Vice Rector, along with leaders of Department of International Relation, DRAGON Institute, College of Environment and Natural Resources, College of Information and Communication Technology and related staff members. At IRD side, Dr. Jean-Pascal Torreton – Director of IRD in Vietnam led the Delegation with Dr. Alexis Drogoul, Dr. Arnaud Grignard and Mr. Vo Duc An.

On this signing occasion, IRD has directly cooperated with College of Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) of CTU in the PEERS project. Within the PEERS project, IRD is purposeful to support CENR with scientific and technical supports in terms of training, research and integration so that CENR is able to apply in solving environmental problems and adaptation to climate change. In fact, IRD and CTU has previously had significant collaboration since 2008, in which IRD has provided finance and technical support to College of Information and Communication Technology of CTU, delivered academic lectures, provided Ph.D and Master thesis supervision on related fields.

Dr. Jean-Pascal Torreton and A/Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan signed the general cooperation agreement.


Dr. Alexis Drogoul and Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung - Dean of College of Information and Communication Technology signed the cooperation within the PEERS project
