In the morning of March 8 2012, on celebration of 102 years of International Women’s Day and 1972 years of Trung Ladies’ Uprising in Vietnam, Can Tho University held the traditional meeting at the Great Hall. Representing the CTU leaders to congratulate CTU female staffs were A/Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan – Rector, A/Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Hien – Secretary of Communist Party Committee of CTU, Mr. Chau Van Luc – Vice Rector, Mr. Nguyen Van Linh – Chairman of Labor Union and Standing Committee, Ms. Ngo Thi To Loan – Former Vice Chairman of Labor Union, Mr. Tran Thien Binh - Secretary of Youth Union, along with representatives of CTU staffs from colleges, schools, departments and centers at CTU, especially CTU female staffs.

On this occasion, along with the review of the heroic tradition of international women in general and Vietnamese women in particular by Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Ngan - Deputy Chaiman of CTU Women Committee , Dr. Ha Thanh Toan warmly honored CTU female staffs, who have excellently finished their responsibilities. He also encouraged female staffs to make efforts to prove their talent and their importance in the development of the education and training at CTU. It is promising that CTU leaders will create chances for female staffs to promote the best of their ability. Along with the meeting was the cooking contest named “Weekend’s Meal” consisting of 22 teams of male staffs from different colleges, schools, departments and centers at CTU.
