The workshop received 43 papers written by scientists, lecturers, students from educational institutions in the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh city and Da Nang. The papers’ topics include knowledge technology, multimedia technology, high-performance computing, data mining and machine learning, modeling, simulation, language processing, image recognition and processing, network security, cloud computing, software engineering, IoT, intelligent systems, and decision support systems. There are 33 articles selected to publish in the Proceedings of the Workshop, especially the 23 best papers were published in CTU Journal of Science.

In the context of the ongoing fourth technology revolution, many opportunities and challenges are posed to higher education institutions. The initial challenge is to innovate content, curriculum and teaching methods, in which STEM teaching methods (training related to science, technology, engineering and math) need promoting. In addition, scientific research in the field of ICT should stick to the main fields of this revolution, including artificial intelligence, IoT and big data analysis. Among the papers submitted to the Workshop, many studies related to these fields were combined with GIS and applied to solve the challenges that the Mekong Delta is facing such as climate change, efficient management and use of resources.

With the spirit of exchanges and cooperation for development, the Workshop is expected to contribute to promoting collaborations in training, scientific research, and technology transfer in the field of ICT in the Mekong Delta in particular and the country in general.
