On October 17th, 2017, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of Can Tho University (CTU) and leader representatives of Center for Quality Assurance and Testing, College of Agriculture and Applied Biology, and School of Graduates had a meeting Mr. Berndt Tilp, Information Center, German Academic Exchange Agency (DAAD), to discuss opportunities for cooperation and introduce scholarships for studying in Germany.

At the meeting, CTU’s side has presented general information about the University; the quality management program of the University from 1990 to 2018; cooperation between the University and DAAD in the field of quality assurance; the activities of German agencies and organizations in the Mekong Delta; and the University’s concerns about the opportunity to work with German partners in the future.

Impressed with the results of the University’s activities, Mr. Berndt Tilp shared that CTU is developing fast and strongly, in addition, the University’s interests in training and the quality of higher education are also shared by DAAD and its partners. In the coming time, DAAD will provide detailed information on potential collaborative research areas, then introduce to 350 German institutes and universities to build beneficial relationships and partnerships for both parties.
The graduates’ employment rate in 2015 (surveyed in 2016) is impressive. Mr. Berndt Tilp is expected to hold talks with German Embassy and government agencies to seek funding for a workshop in 2018 at CTU with the theme "Linking universities and industry", with the objective of helping CTU, representatives from German universities and businesses share the views that contribute to further linking cooperation relationship between the two sides.

On the occasion to CTU, DAAD Information Center held a presentation of DAAD scholarships to encourage individuals for master and PhD program application, and groups for joint research project to staff and students of CTU.
