Short-term certificate On March 7th, 2017, Can Tho University (CTU) held a meeting to celebrate Women’s Day - March 08, International Day of Happiness - March 20 and commemorate the 1977th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Insurrection. Attending the meeting were Mr. Le Xuan Tri, Standing Vice Chairman of Labor Federation of Can Tho City; Members of the Rectorate Board and all staff members of CTU.

At the meeting, the staff of CTU together reviewed the history and meaning of the Women’s International Day on March 08th, International Day of Happiness on March 20th and the Insurrection of Hai Ba Trung with the heroic tradition of Vietnamese women in the history of the struggle for national construction and defense.
Representing CTU’s leaders, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice Rector, sent the best congratulations to all female staff of the University. Currently, CTU has a total of nearly 2,000 staff members, of which 44% is female. CTU has over 58,000 students, the female ones account for 44%. This shows the significant role of female staff as well as female students in learning, teaching and research activities, contributing to the strong development of the University. Vice Rector expected that these forces will promote the tradition of Vietnamese women, constantly learning, improving the qualification, scientific research to achieve higher achievements in the workplace, besides, balance the office’s and family’s work to be successful and happy in their lives.

On this occasion, labor union of CTU’s units and their members were honored to receive certificates of merit from Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vietnam Education Union and Labor Confederation of Can Tho City for the achievements in activities of labor union and the contributions to the strengthening of CTU’s Labor Union in the school year of 2015-2016.

With the desire to tighten solidarity and create cheerful atmosphere in the University, There was a cooking contest whose contestants were male staff. The contest consisted of 30 teams from CTU’s units.
