On December 2, 2025, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Vice Rector of Can Tho University, together with representatives of relevant units, welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. The meeting took place at Can Tho University’s Administration Building

During the meeting, the Japanese delegation discussed with Can Tho University the objectives and scope of their upcoming field study in Vietnam, titled Vietnam Rice Sector Field Survey. The survey focused on assessing the impacts of climate change, including salinity intrusion, and examined the transition toward high-quality, low-emission rice production models in line with sustainable agricultural practices and international standards. This research aimed to gain deeper insights into rice production, supply chains, trade activities, and policy implementation in the Mekong Delta region.
