Can Tho University rises over 130 places, one of 17 Vietnamese universities in the Asia Rankings

The educational organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently published the 2025 Asia University Rankings, in which Can Tho University (CTU) has climbed to the 521-540 range among universities in the Asia region, an increase of over 130 places compared to 2024.

QS is a globally recognized organization that ranks higher education institutions worldwide annually and is widely referenced by students, scholars, and organizations across the globe. It is the only ranking that emphasizes employability and sustainability, two critical factors in today's educational landscape.

With this advancement, CTU continues to affirm its position in higher education not only in Vietnam but also in Asia. This remarkable achievement reflects the university’s unwavering efforts in improving the quality of teaching, research, and facilities. During the 2023-2024 academic year, CTU achieved several notable accomplishments:

- In training: CTU completed enrollment for full-time undergraduate programs in 2024, with 9,315 students enrolled, reaching 97.1% of the enrollment target. Additionally, the university launched five new undergraduate programs and seven postgraduate programs to meet societal needs, with a 95.34% employment rate for graduates.

- In quality assurance: CTU completed its second cycle of quality accreditation for the 2023-2028 period and achieved accreditation for nine programs under the Ministry of Education and Training standards, and 16 programs under AUN-QA standards, bringing the total number of accredited programs to 52. The university was also one of nine Vietnamese institutions listed in the US News & World Report's global rankings.

- In international collaboration: CTU hosted more than 300 delegations, with nearly 2,000 international visitors. Currently, CTU is implementing 54 international cooperation projects with a total funding of over 90 billion VND. CTU also sent 460 students to participate in short-term exchange programs abroad with 44 partners in 11 countries (statistics from the 2023-2024 academic year).

- In organization and human resources: CTU has 1,889 staff members, including 1,075 lecturers with 612 holding doctoral degrees (56.9% PhD rate, significantly higher than the national average of 33%), 20 professors, and 166 associate professors. CTU's staff continuously develops in both quantity and quality, contributing to CTU's mission of comprehensive development in the Mekong Delta region.

The remarkable rise in the Asia University Rankings reflects the relentless efforts of the entire faculty, students, and leadership in building a high-quality educational environment that meets the needs of societal development and international integration. (Website Editorial Board)
