Undergraduate From August 5 to 9, 2026, 59 graduate and undergraduate students from the School of Foreign Languages at Can Tho University (CTU) took part in a range of learning, cultural exchange, and exploration activities at Rangsit University in Thailand. Building on a partnership cultivated over 16 years, the program not only built on the positive outcomes of educational cooperation between the two universities, but also opened new opportunities for students to engage with new spaces of knowledge, cultural exchange, and international integration.
Connecting Learning with Experience and Bringing Students Closer to an International Learning Environment
As part of the program, 59 graduate and undergraduate students from the School of Foreign Languages participated in various learning, discussion, and exchange activities with lecturers and students at Rangsit University. Beyond engaging with academic content in an international educational environment, participants had opportunities to interact directly with their Thai peers and exchange perspectives on learning, language, and culture. These experiences helped them gradually strengthen their communication and teamwork skills, while developing their ability to adapt to multicultural environments.
CTU students confidently participate in academic and cultural exchange activities with Thai students
A distinctive feature of the program was the combination of classroom learning and practical exploration. Through visits to Bangkok and the historic city of Ayutthaya, CTU graduate and undergraduate students had opportunities to gain deeper insights into Thailand’s history, culture, and traditional values. At the same time, the program also provided an opportunity for CTU students to introduce distinctive aspects of Vietnamese culture to lecturers and students at Rangsit University.
These interactive exchange activities not only helped bring Vietnam and CTU closer to the international community, but also contributed to developing students’ confidence, initiative, and readiness for international integration. Upon completion of the program, participants received certificates of completion in recognition of their meaningful journey of learning and cultural exchange.
16 Years of Cooperation – Continuing the Journey, Creating New Shared Values
Alongside the academic exchange activities involving graduate and undergraduate students, from August 6 to 8, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuong Hoang Yen – Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, together with lecturers from CTU, visited Rangsit University for a series of working sessions. The working sessions provided an opportunity to review key achievements of the partnership, reflect on the shared values developed through years of cooperation, and explore new directions to further strengthen the relationship between the two sides in a more substantive, in-depth, and mutually beneficial manner.

Building on 16 years of cooperation, the two sides focused on practical and long-term areas, including expanding student exchange programs; the credit transfer and certificate recognition; faculty exchange; research collaboration; and academic activities. Particular attention was given to strengthening student exchanges, with discussions on solutions to better align the timing and format of exchange programs with the academic schedules, needs, and practical conditions of students at both universities. This was regarded as an important step toward ensuring that exchange activities would not remain limited to short-term programs, but would gradually become a meaningful part of students’ learning and personal development.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for faculty collaboration in English and French language teaching, the establishment of joint research groups, and the expansion of youth and community service activities. These directions open up opportunities to move beyond exchange activities toward deeper professional collaboration, connecting the knowledge, expertise, and strengths of the two institutions to create new value in education, research, and community engagement.
The 16-year partnership between CTU and Rangsit University continues to deepen, creating broader connections in knowledge, human resources, and opportunities for development. Each exchange program represents another step in expanding the educational space, enabling students to experience new cultures, providing lecturers with opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration, and gradually transforming international connections into meaningful value for the community. By continuing to strengthen cooperation with Rangsit University, CTU seeks to equip students not only with professional competencies and intercultural communication skills, but also with initiative, an open mindset, and the confidence to engage in an increasingly interconnected world.
