On August 21st, 2019, Can Tho University (CTU) was honored to welcome Mr. Roger McElwain - Chief Executive Officer of University of Otago Language Centre and Foundation Year and Ms. Cao Vu Hoang Chau - Business Development Manager of Viet Nam-New Zealand G2G Know-How, New Zealand Embassy. They are representatives of University of Otago - New Zealand, aiming to find out the opportunity to cooperate with CTU about education. CTU’s representatives in this meeting were Ass.Prof. Le Viet Dung - Vice Rector and the representatives of CTU’s units.

At the meeting, Mr. Roger McElwain introduced the overview of University of Otago - New Zealand as well as their language centre by a short video and presentation. Both of units discussed about some problems related to student exchange.

CTU expressed the desire of receiving students or post-graduates from University of Otago and on the contrary. Simultaneously, the partner could depute lecturers, volunteers to teach English at CTU. Mode of study could be full time in New Zealand or devided into 2 stages: students can study at CTU in first years, and then they will finish their study at University of Otago. Especially, CTU is always ready to receive and assist officers of University of Otago when they come to work here short-term or long-term. It is also the chance to help 2 universities to cooperate favourably and exchange the culture between 2 countries more easily.
