Students from India come to study at Can Tho University

From February 14, 2023, a delegation of 24 Indian students from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University participated in the academic exchange program in the field of Smart Agriculture Inbound Program at Can Tho University. This is also the first international student delegation in 2023 to study short-term at the university.

Nowadays, Vietnam's agriculture has achieved outstanding achievements but is also facing challenges in the context of climate change and devastating natural disasters. Smart agriculture is the solution for our country and farmers to overcome the above difficulties. Smart agriculture is able to help farmers have access to modern, complete and timely information, skills and techniques to make better decisions in their production and business. This helps increase productivity, yield, income and profits for farmers.

At Can Tho University, a short-term training program in the field of Smart Agriculture is organized for international students with the aim of providing basic modules on modern agriculture, Vietnamese agricultural practices related to new trends, smart farming, technologies, tools in agriculture, agribusiness, etc. Moreover, Indian students participating in this program will have the opportunity to enhance their experience through field trips to agricultural facilities such as laboratories, farmland, smart technology facilities in agriculture, agricultural technology startups, local tours.

This learning program is expected to be implemented within 8 weeks (from 14/2 to 15/4/2023), designed in detail with diverse and rich content, taught by a team of experienced lecturers. Within the framework of activities for international students, this is really a meaningful program, helping Indian students better understand Vietnam's agriculture, learn more new things, improve their knowledge and be able to apply it to the field of agriculture when returning home. In particular, it is also the basis for establishing a close relationship as well as strengthening cooperation between Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University and Can Tho University in the near future.
