On June 24th, 2025, Can Tho University (CTU) held the opening session of the 454th AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance) programme assessment for four academic programs, including: Bachelor in Commercial Business, Bachelor in Natural Resource Economics, Bachelor of Engineering in Agronomy, and Master in Crop Science.

Bautista - Chief Assessor; Ms. Kodchakorn Phaisitsrisawat - the AUN-QA Secretariat, along with other members of the AUN-QA Assessment Team. From CTU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Ngon - Deputy Chair of CTU Board of Trustees; representatives from the Department of Quality Management, and leaders of relevant units.

Taking place from June 24 to 26, this is the second AUN-QA Programme Assessment at CTU in 2025, and it stands as a powerful testament to the University's pioneering role in enhancing the quality of education and training in the Mekong Delta. Concurrently, it presents an opportunity for CTU to promote and reaffirm its social responsibility by training practically-oriented graduates who meet regional and international quality standards, thereby creating momentum for innovation and sustainable development in the context of globalized higher education.
During the three-day evaluation, the assessors and team members will work with unit leaders and relevant stakeholders, visit university facilities, and review self-assessment reports.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung emphasized, "This assessment is the 13th we have conducted in collaboration with AUN-QA. Can Tho University became an AUN member in 2013, and since then, we have been applying AUN-QA practices across our campuses. As of June 2025, we have had 38 academic programmes assessed and awarded with AUN-QA certificates. I take great pleasure to inform you that Can Tho University sets high priority for quality assurance in education, research and community services. Our education philosophy is community, totality, and uniqueness."

On behalf of the assessment team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista expressed her appreciation for CTU’s strong commitment to continually enhancing educational quality. She emphasized that the activities taking place over the next few days would play a crucial role in improving the quality of the assessed academic programmes, serving not only current students but also many future generations. The AUN Lead Assessor highlighted: “Academic excellence and seeking improvement is a never-ending journey, and I am glad we can face this together.”
