National Conference and Exhibition on Animal and Veterinary Sciences

In two days of March 11^th and 12^th, 2017, Can Tho University (CTU) organized National Conference and Exhibition on Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AVS2017) under the sponsorship of Vietnam Livestock Association and Vietnam Veterinary Association.

The Conference aimed to comprehensively assess the production system of livestock in the integration and climate change, especially droughts and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta region. It was also purposeful of finding solutions for developing sustainable livestock, summarizing new scientific work to serve future research and production.

In the framework of the Conference, a number of activities took place such as Forum on Livestock Restructuring in Integration and Climate Change; Exhibition of animal and veterinary science achievements; Discussion on animal husbandry and veterinary techniques; scientific reports on animal nutrition, animal diseases; and poster report. There were 92 scientific papers sent to the Conference, of which 81 were selected to publish in the proceedings.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU sent thanks to the units that co-ordinated with CTU to organize the Conference and appreciated the participation of students and local farmers to meet and exchange with leading scientists, companies, businesses, educational institutions across the country. The Rector expected the Conference to gain valuable results, contributing to the sustainable and fruitful development of the animal and veterinary industry in the coming time.
