On November 02, 2018, Can Tho University (CTU) and Brainworks Asia Co., Ltd, Japan were pleased to launch Innovation Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology.
CTU has cooperated with Brainworks Asia Co., Ltd to open Innovation Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, located at College Information and Communication Technology, CTU. The objectives of this Center are to create a collaborative environment for research between Japanese and CTU in the field of science and technology, especially information technology, to address the issues of the Mekong Delta as well as the research content interested in the world. The Office is also a place to incubate creative ideas, start-up in the field of science and technology with the support of Japanese professionals and businesses.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU, said that in recent years, the University has continuously improved the quality of training, scientific research and technology transfer, confirming its position at home and abroad. In particular, scientific research and international cooperation have contributed positively to the quality of training and scientific research of the University. The model of "association with enterprises", especially foreign enterprises in scientific research and human resource training has been implemented in recent years and brought practical results. The Rector believes that the Center will actively contribute to the scientific research and training activities of the University and open opportunities for cooperation between CTU in particular and the Mekong Delta in general with Japanese partners in the field of science and technology.

The Inauguration Ceremony of "Innovation Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology" is an activity in the series of events commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2018). Therefore, the ceremony attracted many business representatives from Japan. After the ceremony, the delegates visited the Laboratory of YARI-V (Yanmar Agricultural Research Institute-Vietnam), located at College of Engineering Technology, CTU. The model "university-enterprise association" in scientific research and human resource training has been effectively implemented by CTU in recent years.
