Closing Session of the 440th AUN-QA Programme Assessment

On March 13, 2025, Can Tho University (CTU) hosted the closing session of the 440th AUN-QA programme assessment at the Administration Building. Attending the event were Prof. Dr. Suzeini Binti Abd Halim - Chief Assessor; Ms. Achavadee Wiroompetch - AUN-QA Secretariat; the Lead Assessors and the AUN-QA Assessment Team. Representing CTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh - Rector; The Vice-Rectors include: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, Dr. Le Van Lam; representatives from the Quality Management Center, and leaders from relevant units. 

The closing session took place at CTU’s Administration Building

Four training programmes: International Business, Engineering in Industrial Management, Engineering in Applied Biological Sciences, and Economic Management (Master’s level), were evaluated based on the AUN-QA standards and received highly positive initial results. 

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh emphasized, “The presentations on the pre-liminary findings and recommendations by the AUN-QA Team are useful for academic programmes in particular and for CTU in general to solidify its internal quality assurance system, which should be a foundation for continuous improvement in order to better fulfill its missions in education, research, and community services. CTU takes this opportunity to acknowledge your efforts and contributions to its journey toward high-quality education. CTU is confident that the experience it has gone through will lead to better outcomes.”

On behalf of the AUN-QA Assessment Team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamol Wan Lueprasert - Lead Assessor, expressed appreciation for CTU’s highly qualified and dedicated faculty, as well as its modern facilities. Lead Assessor emphasized that The AUN-QA Team acknowledges CTU’s continued trust in the AUN-QA system.  Furthermore, the findings and recommendations from this assessment will provide valuable guidance for CTU in strengthening its academic programmes, ensuring alignment with regional and international quality standards. The AUN-QA looks forward to continued cooperation with CTU and anticipates further progress in future assessments. The efforts and dedication of CTU’s leadership and academic staff are highly commendable, and AUN-QA is confident that the outcomes of this assessment will significantly contribute to CTU’s long-term development.

The pre-liminary and recommendations from the AUN-QA experts will serve as a crucial basis for CTU to continuously refine its academic programmes, enhance teaching and research quality, and strengthen its quality assurance mechanisms. The 440th AUN-QA programme assessment marks a significant step forward in educational quality assurance and stands as a testament to CTU’s commitment to meeting regional and international standards.
