On July 6th, 2023, the closing session of the 336th AUN-QA Program Assessment in Can Tho University took place at the Rectorate Hall, the Administration Building. Attending the closing session was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista, Chief Assessor; Lead Assessors include Prof. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah (attending online from Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Kiran Kaur and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamolwan Lueprasert; Assessors include Prof. Dr. Thanongsack Duangdala, Prof. Dr. Merlin Teodosia Suarez, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sumet Umchid and Dr. Cynthia P. San Diego; Secretariat includes Ms. Chanapatr Changprasert. At CTU’s side was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, Vice-Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice-Rector; CTU’s leaders, lecturers, staff and students.

This program assessment lasted for two days (July 4 – 5, 2023), and four assessed study programs include Bachelor in Agricultural Economics, Bachelor in Biotechnology (advanced program), Master in Principles and Methods of Mathematics Education, and Master in Hydraulic Engineering. During two days, the assessment consisted of working sessions with self-assessment report teams, checking evidence for self-assessment reports, visiting facilities, and working sessions with stakeholders such as leaders, lecturers, staff, students, alumni, businesses, etc.
At the closing session, the AUN-QA assessors presented the preliminary findings of the assessment, analyzed the strengths of the 4 training programs, and pointed out the issues for improvement. In addition, the solutions were proposed to improve training quality to meet the needs of society and stakeholders.

Giving the closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista gave thanks to CTU for its hospitality and contribution. It has been encouraging to see the growth that CTU and its study programs have experienced since the previous program assessment. She hoped that this assessment would serve to contribute towards enhancing further growth. She greatly appreciated CTU’s continued trust and belief towards QA system. AUN-QA would strive with the continuation of improvement to provide the best possible services to all 179 member universities in AUN-QA to be the leading QA network in the ASEAN region.

Speaking at the closing session, the representative of CTU's leaders, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung thanked the AUN-QA assessment team for valuable findings and recommendations for improving the quality of the study programs. The Vice-Rector emphasized that Quality Assurance is a non-stop journey; CTU takes this opportunity to acknowledge the AUN-QA team’s efforts and contribution to share CTU’s journey. CTU is committed to strengthening the quality assurance system and making continuous improvements to fulfill CTU’s mission in education, research, and community services.
