Can Tho University signed Memoranda of Agreement with Japanese companies

On May 24th, 2023, Can Tho University (CTU) held an MoA (Memoranda of Agreement) signing ceremony with Japanese companies including Hydro Powtech Japan Co., Ltd.; Lotte Co., Ltd.; Takesho Food & Ingredients Inc.; and Takesho Food Vietnam Co., Ltd.

The MoA signing ceremony took place at the Administration Building, CTU

CTU, located in the center of the Mekong Delta, was founded in 1966. Our mission is to focus on education and training, conducting research, technology transfer, and community services toward the sustainable socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region. The goal of CTU is to strengthen its reputation to become one of the best universities in Viet Nam; to be recognized throughout Asia-Pacific as an excellent education and research institution; and towards global integration and international cooperation.

CTU has collaborated with several significant Japanese companies partners such as Takesho Food & Ingredients Incorporated, Yanmar, Kobe Digital Labo, Bao Viet Tokio Marine Insurance Company, Kobelco Eco-Solution Company, Sumimoto Metal Industry, Sumimoto Forestry and so on. Especially, the first MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed by CTU, Takesho Food together with Hydro Powtech Japan Limited Company in 2018 on research and development of food processing technology by new hydrolysis method, with the expectation that the results from this research cooperation will contribute to the implementation of research projects within the framework of the Can Tho University Improvement Project, especially research projects on improving the quality of fishery products.

Leader representatives of the four parties signed the MoA

This is the first time Lotte Company has collaborated with CTU. After fruitful discussions, the four parties including Lotte Company, Takesho Food & Ingredients Incorporated, Hydro Powtech Japan Company, and CTU agreed to jointly conduct the research and development regarding the verification of the effectiveness of soil conditioner using cacao pods husk as soil fertilizers.

The strong relationship between Japanese partners and CTU will be established and growing, through practical and potential cooperation programs and activities in the future.
