U.S. News & World Report has officially released the 2026–2027 Best Global Universities Rankings, evaluating and ranking 2,250 higher education institutions across more than 100 countries and territories. The rankings are based on 13 indicators measuring academic research performance, global reputation, and regional research reputation.
In the 2026–2027 edition, Can Tho University (CTU) is ranked 2,116th globally, 946th in Asia, and 8th among Vietnamese higher education institutions.

Among CTU's notable achievements, the University ranks 308th worldwide in International Collaboration, is placed among the top 600 globally in Regional Research Reputation, and ranks among the top 800 worldwide in Normalized Citation Impact.
These results reflect CTU's strong foundation in research excellence and international collaboration, particularly in disciplines aligned with its mission of supporting the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta. The University's continued progress is the result of the dedicated efforts of its leadership, faculty members, researchers, and domestic and international partners in enhancing research quality, expanding academic collaboration, and strengthening CTU's presence within the global higher education and research community.
