On December 15, 2025, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Vice-Rector of Can Tho University, together with representatives of relevant units, welcomed Ms. Madeleine Plocki, Second Secretary (Development) of the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, and her delegation.

The meeting took place at CTU’s Administration Building
During the meeting, the two sides discussed potential cooperation in education, scientific research, and sustainable development. As a leading center for education and research in the Mekong Delta, Can Tho University has significant advantages to become a knowledge hub, connecting, sharing, and disseminating research outputs, scientific expertise, practical experience, and policy solutions to support sustainable development across the region.
The Australian Embassy expressed strong interest in cooperating with Can Tho University on the establishment and development of a “Knowledge Hub” project. The project seeks to promote the application of science, knowledge, and innovation through practical applied research programs; support evidence-based policymaking and implementation; strengthen research capacity for universities, enterprises, and management officials; and enhance linkages among universities, enterprises, and government bodies within and beyond the region. It also aims to leverage existing platforms to expand outreach, increase impact, and improve the dissemination of knowledge within the community.
