Announcement Ceremony of Resolution on assigning tasks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice-Rector in charge of Can Tho University

On November 6th, 2023, Can Tho University (CTU) held a ceremony to announce the Resolution on assigning tasks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice-Rector in charge of Can Tho University. Accordingly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh is in charge of CTU from the first of November 2023 until the appointment of the CTU’s new Rector is approved by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, CTU’s former Rector and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh signed the minutes of handing over the Rector’s tasks

On October 31st, 2023, Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan finished his terms as a Rector of CTU since 2012 in accordance with the regulations. On September 15th, 2023, CTU’s leadership conducted the procedures for appointing CTU’s new Rector for the 2020-2025 term. The University submitted to the Ministry of Education and Training for approval the appointment of the University’s new Rector in the near future.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh graduated from CTU in 1997, received a master’s degree in 2004 and a doctorate in 2007 at Gyoengsang National University, Korea. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh qualified for the title of Associate Professor in electricity in 2013. At CTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh was a lecturer at the College of Engineering and Technology, CTU (from 1998 to 2007), Head of the College’s Faculty (from 2007 to 2009), Vice-Dean of the College (from 2010 to 2012), Vice-Rector of CTU from June 2012 to present. Since November 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh concurrently holds the position of Director of the ODA Project Management Unit. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh has over 2 terms as the Vice-Rector of CTU, and he has made remarkable contributions to the implementation of ODA projects, specifically the Technical Cooperation Project using non-refundable aid and the CTU Improvement Project using ODA loans from the Japanese Government.
