Aiming to strengthen the relationship between the two countries as well as the university partners between Viet Nam and New Zealand, on June 18th, 2018, Mr. Keith Conway, Deputy Head of Mission at the New Zealand Embassy in Viet Nam paid a visit to Can Tho University (CTU). Leader representative and students of CTU welcomed and discussed with the delegates.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector of CTU sent a warm greeting to the delegates, then informed the important activities of CTU in recent years, especially emphasized the significant role of CTU in training, scientific research and technology transfer activities serving the development of the Mekong Delta in particular and the whole country in general. The Vice Rector shared that the cooperative activities between the University and partners from New Zealand have created conditions for CTU's staff to pursue master and doctoral programs in this country. At present, 10 faculties successfully holding the master and doctoral degrees in New Zealand have effectively made use of their knowledge, held important positions in CTU's units, and greatly contributed to the development of the University.
In a cordial atmosphere, Mr. Keith Conway expressed his pleasure and thanked the warm welcome of CTU, a hub of the Mekong Delta, a higher educational institution with experiences and great contributions in education and human resource provision for the region. Mr. Keith Conway appreciated the dynamism and achievements of CTU. On the occasion, the two sides have shared the common concerns and discussed the proposed orientations to enhance the cooperation in training between educational institutions. Mr. Keith Conway confirmed that in the coming time, the New Zealand Embassy in Viet Nam continues to play the role as a bridge to actively promote linkages and effective cooperation programs between the two countries' partners in general and between CTU and the universities of New Zealand in particular.

After the meeting with the leader representative of CTU, the Deputy Head of Mission at the New Zealand Embassy in Viet Nam has met and interacted with the students of the University. Accordingly, Mr. Keith Conway has shared the reality of the bilateral relations between Viet Nam and New Zealand, and useful information about scholarships for studying in New Zealand. Taking advantage of this opportunity, CTU's students with dynamism, confidence and English competence have boldly expressed their interests in the country, culture, education and scholarships for studying in New Zealand.
