On October 31, 2023, Can Tho University (CTU) organized the second progress review meeting for Phase 2 of the Technical Cooperation Project (TC2). The meeting was attended by Professor Tanaka Yuji, Chief Advisor of the Project; Mr. Iseri Nobuyuki, Project Coordinator of TC2; Ms. Nakamaru Mai, representative of JICA Vietnam; and Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Anh, program officer of JICA Vietnam. The JICA Tokyo representative and members of the Japan University Consortium (JSUC) participated in the meeting online.
On the CTU side, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, the Vice Rector and Director of the Project Management Unit for Can Tho University Improvement Project; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung, the Project Advisor; members of the Project Management Unit ; the leaders of 12 research models within the Project; and representatives of the CTU's leadership.

During the working session, the leaders of 12 research models presented the research results achieved after one year of implementation. Based on that, all parties evaluated the progress of the implementation of the 12 research models and provided opinions to clarify and discuss specific aspects of each model.
JICA and the JSUC professors highly appreciated the progress of the 12 research models. These models serve as a foundation for technology transfer and data collection, analysis, and management, aiming at the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region. They contribute to enhancing the region's resilience and adaptation to climate change.
The meeting aimed to assess the progress of the 12 research models within the project to address emerging issues promptly and ensure the project's timeline.

Assoc. Prof .Dr. Tran Trung Tinh expressed his gratitude for the participation and contributions of the JSUC professors, the Chief Advisor, and the Project Coordinator of the TC2 Project. He believed that the close collaboration among the research groups of CTU, the professors, the Japanese partners, and the localities in the Mekong Delta region would strengthen the research network and expand the project's impact.
