From October 1st to 4th, 2025, Can Tho University (CTU) solemnly organized the 10th International Conference on Sustainable Animal Agriculture for Developing Countries (SAADC 2025). This was the first time the conference had been held in Vietnam and is recognized as one of the leading scientific events in the field of animal science. CTU hosted the conference in collaboration with more than ten universities, research institutes, and international organizations.
This year’s event attracted 350 participants from 27 countries and featured 265 scientific papers presented by professors, researchers, experts, policymakers, and representatives from various enterprises. The diversity and depth of the presentations underscored the conference's prestige. The scientific discussions focused on the latest advancements in nutrition, genetics, herd management, and sustainable livestock production systems.

Overview of the event
At the opening ceremony, delegates engaged in fruitful exchanges and networking activities, opening new opportunities for research and collaboration in the livestock sector. Under the theme “Circular Animal Production Systems – Solutions for Sustainable Development,” the conference focused on scientific and technological strategies to enhance productivity and product quality while minimizing environmental impacts, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in agriculture.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, CTU Vice Rector and Vice Chairman of the SAADC 2025 Organizing Committee, emphasized that the livestock industry plays a crucial role not only in ensuring food security and economic growth but also in addressing significant challenges posed by climate change and environmental pressures. According to him, SAADC 2025 provides a valuable opportunity for the global scientific community to share experiences, propose solutions, and collectively promote circular, sustainable, and eco-friendly livestock production systems.

During the four-day conference, SAADC 2025 featured nine plenary sessions, six workshops, and multiple parallel sessions, as well as poster presentations and open discussions. In addition, delegates participated in field trips to poultry and dairy goat farms as well as facilities equipped with emission measurement chambers for ruminant animals. These visits offered practical insights and strengthened the connection between scientific research and real-world agricultural practices.
