Signing Memorandum of Understanding with the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment - University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand

On March 08th, 2018, Can Tho University held a ceremony to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. Attending the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector of CTU, leaders and staff members representatives of CTU’s Graduate School and JGSEE.

The objectives of the MOU is to establish a framework for research collaboration activities between JGSEE and CTU in furthering the science and development in Thailand and Vietnam within the broad areas of energy and environment involving forest carbon mapping and climate change research activities.

The areas of corporation include fostering the research collaboration between Graduate School-CTU and JGSEE-KMUTT, setting the ground work for long term international partnership; strengthening the technical capacity of local institutions in the field of forest and climate change; providing technical support to CTU for improving the national scale database and dissemination of knowledge acquired from research to other ASEAN communities; capacity building events, including workshops and technical trainings on climate change and its impact on forest; professional development opportunities for CTU staffs at the JGSEE, KMUTT, including master and PhD degree programs.
