On April 12th and 13th, 2018, at Can Tho University (CTU), a joint meeting of the VLIR Vietnam Network has been taken place with the participation of Vietnamese and Belgium institute and university members of the program.

In 2013, VLIR-OUS started the program of Network University Cooperation for research based education on Bioscience for food in Vietnam, so-called VLIR Vietnam network Program coordinated by 5 Vietnamese institutes of higher education. The first phase of the program has lasted for 5 years, and is going to end in 2018. At the moment, there are 23 master students, coming from Africa, South East Asia and Vietnam, taking the international master courses in Aquaculture and in Food Technology.
At the meeting, the P1 and P2 project leaders have reported the results of AP2013-2017 and the AP2018 progress of the joint graduate program and research based education in Aquaculture and Food Technology. Then, the Joint Steering Committee has discussed the formulation for phase 2 of the program.
