Undergraduate On March 9, 2026, Dr. Le Van Lam - Vice Rector of Can Tho University, together with representatives of relevant units, welcomed and held a working meeting with a delegation from the South Dakota Agricultural and Rural Leadership (SDARL), United States. The delegation was led by Ms. Janelle Lorna Booth - Chief Executive Officer.
The meeting took place at Can Tho University’s Administration Building
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on issues related to agriculture and rural development, particularly in the context of climate change and the need for sustainable development in the Mekong Delta. The discussion also aimed to enhance understanding of socio-economic issues in agriculture and broaden international perspectives on rural development. Can Tho University shared information about its ongoing education and research activities in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, and economics, as well as the University’s technology transfer initiatives in these areas.

The delegation expressed strong interest in agricultural production models that adapt to climate change and promote sustainable livelihoods for rural communities in the Mekong Delta. Through the meeting, the parties expect to strengthen academic and research exchanges, share practical experiences in agricultural development, and expand opportunities for future cooperation.
