Can Tho University: Closing Ceremony and Certificate Presentation for Credit Transfer Students from Gyeongsang National University (Republic of Korea)

On January 14, 2026, Can Tho University (CTU) held a closing ceremony and awarded certificates to students from Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Republic of Korea, participating in the credit transfer program. The event marked the conclusion of a meaningful academic and cultural journey for 50 Korean students at CTU. It also represented an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two universities.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Junho Yeom – Director of the Social Contribution Center and Associate Dean of Student Affairs, GNU, along with all students participating in the credit transfer program. Representing CTU were Dr. Le Van Lam – Vice President, along with representatives of relevant units, faculty members in charge of the program, and students.

The program took place at CTU’s Administration Building

During their participation in the credit transfer program at CTU, the students from Gyeongsang National University not only completed accredited academic courses but also actively engaged in academic activities, cultural exchanges, and interactions with CTU students and the local community. These experiences enabled them to gain deeper insights into the socio-economic life of the Mekong Delta, broaden their global perspectives, and enhance their academic capacity, intercultural communication skills, and adaptability in a multicultural learning environment.


Dr. Le Van Lam expressed his hope that the students would return to CTU to pursue higher-level studies or participate in similar exchange and academic cooperation programs in the future

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Van Lam expressed his hope that the students had enjoyed a meaningful and memorable time at CTU. He also expected that they would return to the University in the future to pursue higher-level studies or join similar exchange and academic cooperation programs, thereby further strengthening the sustainable partnership between the two universities. Dr. Le Van Lam highly appreciated their serious learning attitude, quick adaptability to a new academic environment, and proactive engagement in international exchange.

In his remarks, Prof. Junho Yeom expressed his sincere appreciation to CTU for its warm hospitality, friendly and open learning environment, and thoughtful support provided to GNU faculty members and students throughout the program. He also highly valued CTU’s training quality, the dedication of its faculty, and the well-organized and effective implementation of the credit transfer program.

On behalf of the 50 GNU students, a student representative conveyed heartfelt gratitude to CTU’s leadership, faculty members, and relevant units for their continuous support and guidance during their study and living period. The credit transfer program was regarded as a valuable opportunity not only for academic enrichment and cultural experience, but also for fostering mutual understanding and closer bonds between students of the two countries, laying a solid foundation for future academic cooperation.

At the ceremony, CTU officially presented certificates of completion to the students from Gyeongsang National University. These certificates not only recognized the students’ academic achievements but also symbolized their efforts, meaningful experiences, and lasting memories throughout their learning journey and cultural exploration in Vietnam, particularly in the Mekong Delta region. Previously, on January 6, 2026, CTU had organized a welcoming ceremony for the 50 GNU students at the beginning of the program.
