On April 14, 2026, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Vice Rector of Can Tho University (CTU), together with representatives of relevant units, welcomed and held a working session with the delegation from Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, led by Prof. Dr. Tien Hui Chen - President of the University.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on orientations for future cooperation, focusing on the development of student exchange programs and the promotion of joint training in key disciplines such as architecture, construction, and engineering. Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology expressed their impressions of CTU's mission, vision, and development potential, and conveyed their interest in fostering practical, effective collaborative activities.

Within the framework of the program, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing and expanding cooperation across multiple areas, including the exchange of faculty members and students; sharing academic materials and scientific information; and implementing joint academic activities such as collaborative research, specialized seminars, and other international cooperation programs.

The signing of this agreement not only marks a significant milestone in the partnership between the two universities, but also opens up broad opportunities for collaboration in education and scientific research, particularly in engineering and technological fields. It provides a foundation for both sides to progressively implement concrete cooperation programs, aiming to enhance the quality of human resources and strengthen international integration capacity.
This direction is aligned with CTU’s strategy to expand international partnerships and reinforce its position as a reputable center for education and research in the region. The collaboration with Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology is expected to further deepen academic exchanges, improve training quality, and broaden development opportunities for students and faculty members.
