On June 10th, 2019, Project Management Unit (PMU) of Can Tho University (CTU) organized a ceremony to open the bidding documents for the package "Facility construction work for research laboratory complex and net houses on Can Tho University Improvement Project".
Attending the ceremony were representatives of JICA, JICA CTU Project, Consultant. At CTU’s side, there were members of the Rectorate Board, PMU; and leader representatives of CTU’s units.

At the ceremony, after the representative of PMU announced the documents related to the package, the technical team and the expert team opened the technical proposals of the package, which is, then, evaluated in a fair and transparent manner so as to select qualified and experienced contractors to meet the technical requirements. The financial proposals were sealed and will be opened after the evaluation of the technical proposals. After evaluating the financial proposals, the University will select the best bidder meeting the technical requirements and economical effectiveness to carry out construction work for research laboratory complex and net houses.

CTU Improvement Project using ODA loans of the Government of Japan has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training in March 2015 with the aim of strengthening CTU to become an excellent higher education institution, internationally recognized in training, scientific research, technology transfer and governance, in three priority areas of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Environment. The success of the Project is expected to make a great contribution to the rapid and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta, contributing to the overall development of the University, accompanying advanced universities in the world, and the development of the country.
Five components implemented in the Project include human resource development, research projects, facility development, procurement of research equipment, and consulting services. Accordingly, under the component of facility development, the construction items include research laboratory complex, advanced technology laboratory, greenhouse, and hatcheries.
