On October 2nd, 2019, Can Tho University (CTU) had a meeting with H. E. Mr. Őry Csaba, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam to discuss cooperative activities between CTU and Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam as well as Hungarian partners in the near future. Meeting with the Ambassador is Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector and leader representative of School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Department of International Relations.

Welcoming Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan sent a warm welcome to the Ambassador, and shared information about the University as well as cooperative activities between CTU and Hungarian partners. With the desire to improve the quality of human resource training, and create opportunities for the University's staff and students to exchange and study with international colleagues and friends, the University constantly expands its relationship with international organizations. Therefore, the Rector expressed his delight that the cooperation between CTU and Hungarian partners will be further strengthened thanks to the Embassy's connection for upcoming cooperative activities.

Also at the meeting, Ambassador Őry Csaba informed that wishing to promote understanding of Hungarian culture in Can Tho city in particular and Vietnam in general, the Hungarian Cultural Week in Can Tho is expected to be held in November 2019, in which, the support of CTU in the event plays an important role to make it take place successfully. In addition, the Ambassador and leaders of CTU also discussed and suggested the possibility of cooperation between CTU and the universities of Hungary in exchange activities of students and lecturers, implementation of joint research programs, etc. Mr. Őry Csaba affirmed that the Embassy of Hungary in Vietnam will make efforts to promote linkages between Hungarian partners and CTU. Thereby, CTU's suggestions on cooperative activities to strengthen this good relationship are expected.
