On June 5th, 2019, Can Tho University held the workshop on Transnational Education and Research via the Academic Mobility, Business-University Collaborations and the Joint Postgraduate Programmes in Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The workshop took place at the hall of College of Engineering Technology


The HEP project is aimed at developing collaboration on university-industry (UI) linkage and research and mobility with a focus on identifying the existing skills gaps and sharing of established UI models on creating employment and regional mobility opportunities.

Sponsored by the British Council, the project is implemented by College of Engineering Technology, CTU in collaboration of University of Salford (UK) and Vietnamese universities including Mien Tay Construction University, Tra Vinh University, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. The project lasts for one year and a half from September 2018 to March 2020.

The workshop was attended by professors from University of Salford, Cranfield University; the local government and industries; Vietnamese universities; colleges, institute, departments of CTU. At the workshop, the attendants had chances to learn the successful models of University of Salford, Cranfield University on linking to industries in research and training activities.

Prof. Zeeshan Aziz, University of Salford, introduced the project "UK - Vietnam Higher Education Partnerships" to the attendants

 

Dr. Rebecca Charles, Cranfield University, shared the best practices of developing world class university-industry linkages at Cranfield University

 

Ms. Amina Helal, University of Salford, reported on developing an industry driven curricula to support collaborative R&D, UI engagement and open innovation
