On June 14th, 2018, Project Management Unit (PMU) of Can Tho University (CTU) organized a ceremony to open financial proposal for Package 2-1 "Procurement of equipment for existing laboratories" under CTU Improvement Project. Attending the ceremony were Prof. Tetsu Ando, Chief Advisor of Technical Cooperation Project; Mr. Hiroyuki Kanzaki, Consultant for CTU Improvement Project;  Mr. Kunimoto Kazuhiko, Coordinator of Technical Cooperation Project; representative of bidder. At CTU's side were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice Rector; Members of PMU; and Representatives of leaders of CTU’s units.

CTU Improvement Project using ODA loans of the Government of Japan has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in March 2015 with the aim of strengthening CTU to become an excellent higher education institution, internationally recognized in training, scientific research, technology transfer and governance, in three priority areas of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Environment. The success of the Project is expected to make a strong and effective contribution to the rapid and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta, contributing to the overall development of the University, accompanying advanced universities in the world, and the development of the country.

Five components implemented in the Project include human resource development, research projects, facility development, procurement of research equipment, and consulting services. In the procurement of research equipment, laboratories will be synchronously equipped with modern equipment. Accordingly, Package 2-1 will offer laboratory equipment for the existing laboratories of the University.

Bidding Package 2-1 "Procurement of equipment for existing laboratories" was approved by MOET under Decision No. 4576/QD-BGDDT dated on October 31
st, 2017. After the prequalification procedures, 03 bidders have been selected, including Kanematsu Company, Oawa Seiki Company, Joint Venture of TECOTEC GROUP Joint Stock Company  and Tan Phat Equipment Joint Stock Company.

The PMU of CTU held the Technical Proposal Opening Ceremony on April 06th, 2018. The technical proposals were evaluated from April 10th, 2018 to May 25th, 2018. According to the evaluation results, the bidder satisfied the technical requirements has already selected and approved in the Decision No. 2108/QD-ĐHCT dated on June 06th, 2018 by the Rector of the University. Accordingly, the technically qualified bidder was Joint Venture of TECOTEC GROUP Joint Stock Company  and Tan Phat Equipment Joint Stock Company.

At the ceremony, the PMU of CTU carried out procedures to open the Financial Proposal for Package 2-1 in accordance with relevant provisions. The financial proposal will be evaluated fairly, transparently and accurately. If the bidder continues to meet the financial requirements of the package, the University will negotiate a contract to promote providing goods and equipment, serving the fulfillment of the project.
