Can Tho University works with the Mayor of Jinju City and Korean companies

On November 20, 2025, Can Tho University welcomed and held a working session with Mr. Jo Kyoo-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Korea, along with representatives from Korean enterprises. Receiving the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of Can Tho University, and leaders of affiliated units.

The meeting took place at CTU’s Administration Building

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various potential areas of cooperation. Mayor Jo Kyoo-il expressed particular interest in UAV technology, aquaculture, and student exchange programs between Can Tho University and universities in Korea in general and Jinju in particular. Can Tho University affirmed its readiness to act as a bridge with local authorities in smart city development initiatives, while also promoting short-term and long-term training programs as well as joint research in UAV technology.

In addition to the working session, the delegation visited the UAV & Robot AgriTech Innovation Lab, the College of Engineering Technology and the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries to explore the University’s training and research capabilities, opening opportunities for practical cooperation in the future.
